  4. × In 1965 Edward White became the second human and the first American to walk in space (the first was Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov). This restored photo shows him and the 25 foot long gold-plated tether which attached him to his small craft Gemini 4. Ed White was killed in 1967 while training for Apollo 1.

I was really scared of Stiv Bators and his band The Dead Boys when I first met and photographed them around 1976. Stiv did some wild shit to shock everyone, but deep down he was a really cool guy. I got to know him better several years later in Paris. Rodney Bingenhiemer and I were hanging out with Stiv at his Parisian apartment just a few weeks before he was hit by a car and died.
